The deputy President William Ruto has revealed that the government has released 1 billion shillings for creation and equipping of 30 technical institutes across the country.
In a tweet that he shared on Friday, DP Ruto said that the amount is inclusive of the extended financial support in form of loans and bursaries to learners that will be enrolled in the institutions.
"The Government has released Sh1 billion today to complete the construction and equipping of 30 technical institutes across the country. This is in addition to extending financial support in form of loans and bursaries to learners to enhance enrollment," William Ruto said
As the DP Ruto attended the laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Lang’ata Technical and Vocational Training, Lang’ata, Nairobi County, he claimed that the renewed focus on technical training will impact concise and market relevant skill to the youths country wide.
As a result, that will increase their chamce of employment, which will also contribute a lot in achievement of the Big four agendas and Vision 2030.
"The renewed focus on technical training will impart concise & market-relevant skills to our youths thereby boosting their employability; crucially, the technical skills gained will provide a solid foundation for the Government’s development agenda via the Big Four & Vision 2030," He said
