According to Uasin Gishu County Criminal Investigation Officer (CCIO) Isaac Onyango, the six were found with two kids suspected to have been stolen in Uasin Gishu.

“Two of the suspects were arrested in Kisii County in custody of one child while the rest were arrested at Yamumbi in Uasin Gishu with the other child,”  the CCIO said.

Onyango who was speaking to the press at the Central Police station on Wednesday said the six were holding the two children illegally.

He noted that if one wants to adopt a child, he/she should follow the due process of adopting a child at children's home instead of buying them from people who they don’t know.

“The suspects are now in our custody and will be arraigned in court after investigations are complete where they will be charged with child trafficking,” noted Onyango.

He further urged members of the public who have lost their children to avail themselves at Eldoret Central police station immediately for them to identify the two children.

The detective said the police together with the children department will continue with the crackdown of those involved in the illegal business and all those involved will be arrested thereafter arraigned in court to face the law.
