A poster of the event in which the legislator is set to perform went viral on social media on Thursday.

Nairobi-based blogger Robert Alai was the first person to share the poster online, criticising the MP over the move.

The MP popularly know by his stage name Jaguar is currently in the US alongside a delegation of 84 legislators and members of staff from Kenya to attend the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Reports indicate that the Kenyan Members of the Parliament used millions of taxpayers' money on the expensive trip, yet other countries had sent a delegation of between one to six members.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga also came out to fault the MPs for misusing taxpayers money. The opposition chief went ahead to ask for the names of the 85 MPs set to attend the conference to be published.

"I find no justification at all in Parliament and county assemblies sending such a huge delegation on a mission where a handful could come back with a report," said Raila.
