Welcoming a new member to the family is an amazing feeling to almost all parents though the cost of taking care of the little angel might be an anxious journey.
With the current tough economic times in Kenya, raising a child can be a heavy load for most parents.
Here are three tips on how to raise a baby on a tight budget.
1. Opt for second-hand clothes
Every parent desires to dress their babies in nice clothes. However, if your budget is not suitable for fancy and expensive baby clothes, buy second-hand clothes and ensure you wash them with disinfectant or warm water.
2. Go for cloth diapers
To comfortably take care of your little angel with limited financial resources, cloth diapers and reusable diapers are a better choice compared to diapers which are only used once and disposed of. Even though washing them means more work, you will truly cut the costs of purchasing diapers.
3. Trade your babysitting time
Once you realise you do not have enough money to take your little angel to daycare or employ a nanny, you can offer to babysit your friend's or neighbour's child whenever they are busy and they will return the favour when the need arises.
