Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki has asked Deputy President William Ruto to defy calls by President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop early campaigns before 2022.
Speaking in Tharaka constituency where he commissioned Tharaka Technical Training Institute on Saturday, the senator reminded the second in command that the next Presidential contest is not too far.
He urged him to prepare himself for the contest so that he can emerge victorious at the end of the day.
He reminded him of the journey to Heaven, saying preparations are vital if he wants to become the next President of this country upon the retirement of President Kenyatta.
He noted that the people around him want to mislead him into believing all is well yet they are likely to abandon him when he needs them the most.
“People are trying to play dirty games with you and they want to hoodwink you. That you should not plan for 2022 because it is too far. If we are planning for the journey to heaven.
"I can see Reverends here even my father is a reverend he is here and they always tell us to prepare yourself to go to heaven and we do not know when that day will come,” he said in a video shared by Daily Nation.
(Watu wanakufanyia ukora fulani wanataka kukuhadaa.
Ruto has maintained that he has what it takes to ascend to power when that time comes.
