Kenyan international midfielder Victor Wanyama has vowed to work hard and regain his position in the Tottenham Hotspurs squad after failing to secure a move away from the club in the summer
The midfielder was poised to join Belgium side Club Brugge, but, the move did not materialise.
Wanyama, 28, missed the beginning of the English Premier League (EPL) season after playing in the AFCON 2019 for Kenya and has only featured twice off the bench for the North London side.
“What happened in the transfer window is passed me now, my main focus is to train as hard as I can to make sure I regain my position in the team” Wanyama told Goal.
The highly-rated midfielder is optimistic that he will regain his position, but accepts he will need to work hard to achieve back the confidence of the coach.
“I don’t think it is difficult to win my position back, I just need to push myself even harder and keep working hard in training to achieve the same and I know it will happen soon,"he said.
Wanyama, who is on international duty with Kenya and took part in the 1-0 defeat by Mozambique will travel back to England this week to prepare for their match against Watford on Saturday.
