Former Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) boss David Kimosop had been released from police custody following his Friday morning arrest.
Kimosop who has been mentioned in the Sh63 billion Arror and Kimwarer dam scandal was nabbed while returning from Congo at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
He was on Saturday mornig released on police bail and is set to be arraigned in court on Monday to face the charges, as was confirmed by his lawyer Katwa Kigen.
"Kimosop was released on police bail and will appear in court on Monday,” he told the Standard.
He was among the high-profile officials targeted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), following the halt of the construction of the dams in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
On Monday, National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge were arrested over the dam scandal.
The tender to deliver the mega multipurpose dams had been entrusted with Italian firm CMC Di Ravenna, which has, however, been declared bankrupt and unable to deliver, hence the halt.
