Three people are held at Matuu police station in Yatta sub-county of Machakos county for allegedly being behind motorbike theft.
Two of the suspects were arrested in Kiandutu, Kiambu sub-county while the other one was nabbed in Yatta.
According to Yatta sub-county police commander, the trio has been stealing motorbikes from Yatta sub-county and the sell them in Nairobi, Kiambu and Kitui counties.
He told Hivisasa on the phone that two motorbikes were recovered during the operation.
"We have so far arrested three suspects who have been stealing motorbikes within the area of command and selling them in the neighbouring counties," said Karanja.
"We have recovered two stolen motorbikes and we are searching for more, the operation is ongoing," he added.
"I was urged bodaboda operators to be cautious and also those buying secondhand motorbikes to ask for documents lest you buy stolen ones," he noted.
He asked residents from the three counties to be careful when second-hand hand motorbikes in a bid to avoid buying stolen ones and get into trouble.
The three will appear in court on Friday and be charged with theft.
