A section of Kisumu MCAs have expressed their anger, accusing senator Fred Outa of making disrespectful remarks against governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o.
The senator is alleged to have pilloried the governor last week during a requiem mass for the ‘Nyando Six’ who were murdered in Busia.
He is told Nyong'o that he is to blame for the woes that have befallen the people of Kisumu saying he is "doing nothing".
The angry MCAs led by Leader of Majority Kenneth Onyango said the last Friday’s utterances by Senator Outa were annoying and not in good taste for a leader to trade such insults to the public.
“It’s quite disturbing that our senator fragrantly decided to take that opportunity to abuse the governor of Kisumu County in the glare of the fourth estate and the public,” said Onyango on Monday at the assembly buildings.
The over 35 MCAs said they have been shocked by lack of political sanitation among some politicians in Kisumu especially Outa following his alleged insults to Nyong'o.
Nyalenda MCA Jackton Ogendo told Senator Outa that his role of legislation should end in the Senate.
“I want to send a straight forward message to Senator Outa; his legislation duty should end within the Senate Assembly. When he comes down here, he should not be a village heckler,” warned Ogendo.
Ogendo also said that respect is paramount and should be two-way traffic, adding that Outa should stick to "Koth Biro League as Nyong’o plays Champions' League".
“I would like to inform Senator Outa that Governor Anyang Nyong’o is in the Champions’ League, so he should stick to Koth Biro league,” Ogendo added.
Nominated MCA Aslam Khan also asked Senator Outa to tow the ODM Party line and ensure they work together with Governor Nyong’o just like their party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru.
However, three Members of the Kisumu County Assembly have refuted the accusation that Senator Outa has been insulting the governor.
The trio Julius Genga (Muhoroni), Gad Olima (West Nyakach) and Onjiko/Awasi Ward Otieno Ngeta said the MCAs have forgotten their role and instead have chosen to dance to Governor Nyong’o’s tune.
They hold that if there are differences between the Senator and the governor, they will be solved by the ODM leadership.
