Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has expressed full confidence in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce, which is leading the pursuit for constitutional amendments in the country.
Speaking on Tuesday, Junet said that he fully trusts that the team, whose tenure has been extended, will properly follow up on the BBI report before its implementation.
In any case, he said, its not the BBI taskforce that will decide on the fate of the proposed constitutional amendments but Kenyans, and therefore sees no point on doubting it.
"I have 100% confidence in the BBI taskforce. The final decision will be made by Kenyans," he said in an interview on TV on Tuesday.
He observed that in the next stage, the taskforce will be reaching out to more Kenyans, than was the case during its view-collection sessions which involved 7,000 Kenyans.
According to the leader, what will come out is a stronger report, as compared to the current one.
"The report is now being subjected to a wider audience by the same taskforce. We should not look at it like the taskforce will come up with a different report from the first one. I think it will be a stronger report," he added.
