NARC-Kenya party leader Martha Karua has revealed why she turned down an offer to serve in President Uhuru Kenyatta's administration.
In a recent post on Twitter, Karua disclosed that Uhuru wanted to nominate her to the cabinet immediately after the 2017 polls, but she turned down the offer.
"May be I should now disclose that I rejected an offer for Cabinet post in 2017 after the elections. To that extent the promise was fulfilled to me but promises to Narc-Kenya remain unfulfilled," she posted last week.
During an exclusive interview aired by K24 TV on Sunday night, Karua was pressed to reveal which post Uhuru wanted her to head, where she said the Head of State was not specific.
The former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister added she refused to work with Uhuru since Jubilee allegedly rigged her out in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial contest.
Karua vied against former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru who was the candidate for the Jubilee Party.
"He didn't offer a specific post but he said the general area. I told Uhuru I was not interested in Cabinet because Jubilee rigged me out…They rigged at all levels. Jubilee rigged big time,” she said.
Karua said despite refusing to work for Uhuru, their relationship was cordial, although they do not talk much as she does with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
"I am cordial with President Kenyatta. We don't talk much. For a President it is not easy to just pick up a phone and a call him, but Raila is someone I can call whenever," she said.
