Kesses Sub-county Director of Education Alice Sitienei has urged Kesses Member of parliament, Dr Swarup Mishra, to put more funds through the Constituency Development Fund for the construction of more classes.
She says due to the 100 per cent transition policy by the government the classes are very few compared to the number of students enrolled.
“I am calling upon the area MP Dr Mishra to put more funds for the construction of classes, as I am talking in some school students completely lack classes due to the number of students that have been enrolled therefore need for more,” said the Kesses Subcounty Director of Education.
Sitienei who spoke to the press in Kesses on Saturday said this will ensure that 100 per cent transition in secondary school succeeds and children get quality and not quantity education.
She said that they will ensure that there is a 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary and any parent who will deny his or her child the right to education will be arrested and charged.
“For example, if a school like Racecourse Primary had 120 candidates doing their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) we expect all of them to join form one,” Sitienei added.
Sitienei noted that they working with the ministry of interior to ensure that those who will go against the 100 per cent transition will be arrested and charged.
She further said that more teachers will be deployed to cater to the increasing number of students transiting from primary to secondary.
