It, however, remains unclear where the deceased will be laid to rest after a row emerged within the extended family.

The Paternity of the deceased has said that it is well prepared to give him a befitting send-off.

It has now emerged that the father of the deceased lived in Rangwe Constituency in Homa Bay County before parting Nicholas Anayo Obonyo had a home in Amoso Village in Kochia Ward.

The family has requested that the remains of the deceased are transferred to the same place for burial.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Raymond Mbai said that everything is in place. He, however, said that they are not forcing the body of the deceased to be transferred to the village his final burial rites.

“Let it come out clearly that we are not piling pressure to be given Okoth’s body to bury. But if there is nowhere he can be buried, let the body be given to us to so that we bury him next to the grave of his father,” said Mbai, as quoted by Standard.

The deceased succumbed after a long battle with cancer. Leaders from different quarters have hailed him as a cancer warrior following the sad news.
