Media personality Janet Mbugua says there is nothing wrong with having sex when a lady is experiencing her periods.
Speaking on her latest YouTube video, the former Citizen TV news anchor who was responding to questions raised on periods however noted that it is important for precautions to be put in place during the act.
She nonetheless admitted that some people find it uncomfortable to engage in the act during the time that their female partners are experiencing the menstrual cycle.
According to her, there are no health risks associated with sex during periods.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong, I just think you have to take certain precautions, you have to have a towel, you have to make sure that you’ve covered the sheets I guess. Some people find it very messy but I don’t think there is anything wrong per se in terms of if it is health risk etc. Just take precautions is what I would say and here is another thing I would say, have your partner wear a latex condom if possible. It will protect against pregnancy and STIs,” Mbugua stated in her YouTube video posted.
She, however, advised that it was extremely vital for the couples to be honest with each other.
Janet Mbugua is known for empowering young girls through various platforms including hosting talks which are considered by many as uncomfortable.
