The DP, while campaigning for Jubilee Party candidate McDonald Mariga before the Thursday poll, had promised to grab the seat, currently considered an ODM zone.

However, in a tweet on Friday, the DP claimed that while former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's-ODM retained the seat, Jubilee did a good job and served the notice that the seat can be taken.

But Weke has mocked him, wondering why he has resorted to serving notices yet he was to win the seat, observing that he is only soothing himself after failing to keep his promise.

"Ruto said we have invaded the bedroom, why notices again? (Ruto alisema tumeingia bedroom, sasa ni notice gani tena?)," he posed in an interview on Radio Jambo on Saturday.

He added that based on his observation, the poll was won on the ground and not in campaign rallies, stating that ODM won by mobilizing support at the grassroots.

The lawyer stated that on the Jubilee side, the party was not interacting with supporters in the ground, adding that ODM also put in strict measures to secure its votes on election day.

"Pale nilijua Tangatanga watashindwa, hawakuwa kwa ground. The level of organization iliwekwa na ODM ilikuwa sawa. Hata walikuwa na central command unit," he added.

This translates to; "I knew Tangatanga would lose when I realized they were not on the ground. For ODM, the organization was good, they even had a central command unit."

The seat was won by Imran Okoth, while Mariga appeared second, in a race where 24 aspirants contested.
