The Chairman of Education in the National Assembly and Tinderet Member of Parliament Kibiwot Julius Melly now says the money being used to organize BBI forums across the country should be used to pay fees for the less fortunate.
Speaking in his constituency on Sunday Melly wondered why a lot of money is being allocated for the forums yet no one has objected it.
"As the Chairman of Education Committee in the National Assembly we have many students who did not join form one due to lack of schools and I urge the government to use the money which is being used to organize BBI forums to help such students," said Melly.
He reiterated that it is sad that the government is now concentrating and pumping allot of money in the BBI forums yet some students haven't gone to school.
"Why is the government wasting a lot of money in the Building Bridges forums yet no one is against the report. Let us use the money in a more constructive way by helping the needy students pursue their education," added the Tinderet Member of parliament.
He further said despite the government sponsoring 9,000 bright and needy students from poor backgrounds through the Elimu scholarship many students haven't joined form one.
He called on Kenyans who are able to at least help one needy student pursue his or her education noting by doing that he could have saved a generation.
Melly called on politicians to stop politicizing the BBI report saying it might divide Kenyans basing on their political or tribal cocoons.
