Rapper Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka has hit out at politicians hours after Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru changed her plans to sue him over his hit song Wajinganyiyi.
In a tweet on Saturday, King Kaka reminded leaders that they can become rich without necessarily stealing from the public coffers.
He urged the leaders not to engage in fraud at the expense of the general public, adding that Kenyans are tired of corruption.
“Dear Mr. Politician Wacha Ujinga, did you know you can get rich without stealing public funds meant for development. #Wajinganyiyi,” he tweeted.
Waiguru had threatened to take legal action against the rapper after he adversely mentioned his name in the hit.
The singer questioned why the former Devolution Cabinet Secretary was still in power yet he had been named in the National Youth Services Multi-million saga.
The governor came forth with her guns blazing and reminded King Kaka that she was not charged over the allegations.
"I have therefore made the decision not to proceed with the Kingkaka suit. It is unfortunate when talented youth are taken advantage of by some politicians and used to settle political scores. As I have chosen on previous occasions of this nature, I will contend with their masters," read part of the governor's message.
