ODM leader Raila Odinga's wife Ida Odinga and her daughter, Winnie Odinga will have to wait for a DNA test before proceeding with their succession case involving the late Fidel Odinga's property.
K24 Digital was told that Justice Aggrey Muchelule of the High Court in Nairobi on Wednesday directed that a DNA test should be done on the twins allegedly sired by the late Fidel Odinga.
Ida and Winnie had filed to the court seeking the twins to be included in the share of the property.
However, Fidel’s widow, Lwam Bekele objected their application stating that her son is the only heir to the late Fidel Odinga, who was her husband.
In their application, Ida and Winnie attached the birth certificates of the twins.
Lwam in her objection to the application noted that the birth certificates dont include the names of the twins father.
More so, she said that their applications is passed by time stipulated by the law of succession.
However, the widow has stated that if the DNA tests will show that they were sired by her late husband, then she will include them as beneficiaries of his estate.
Ida, Winnie and Lwam succession battle has attracted attention from local medias with some giving misleading information about their case.
