Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has taken yet another swipe at the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, arguing that it's not genuine.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is pushing for radical changes through Building Bridges Initiative, with some politicians claiming that he's keen to cling to power.
While Uhuru has initially dismissed such claims, Kuria now says the BBI report could be a plot to define 2022 political landscape in Kenya.
The second term legislator on Sunday warned about term extensions, adding that Kenyans will reject plans to create more positions.
He insisted that Uhuru's partners in the Handshake are dishonest.
"There are some people who recently went to Kibra and told us to wait for Tsunami. This is something destructive. I never believed that BBI they are saying is for peace, will trigger tsunami," he said.
"Uhuru's partners in BBI are not honest. BBI should not be about two people. If that BBI is about creating more positions, with some wanting to extend their terms, just do your good and walk away," warned Kuria.
Uhuru will for the first time receive the Building Bridges Initiative report on Tuesday at State House, then there will be public launching at Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday.
Last week, Uhuru accused unnamed politicians against premature campaigns against the BBI report, rallying leaders to read it first.
“There are some characters who poke holes into the report yet they are not privy to what is contained inside,” he said.
“Let us just take time and read through it together and to come out with good things that can make our country even better, more united and that make our institutions more inclusive,” he said.
