In March 2019, the school hit headlines following the state of its buildings and toilets which were almost collapsing.

Speaking exclusively to Hivisasa, the alumnus, Jared Guto, a Kenyan by birth but lives in the US said he came across the story on Hivisasa.

"I was ashamed of what I saw. This is my school, it made me who I am today. I could not sit and watch my sisters and brothers suffer in the name of lazy leaders. I spoke to the Headteacher through my people on the ground and we immediately started building new toilets," he stated.

The school now has complete well-furnished Boys and Girls toilets with four doors each.

Guto has blamed area elected leaders for not paying close attention to education urging them to take the issue seriously as the electorate expect nothing less.

"Let leaders do their Job which we elected them to do. Toilets are a very small project that even the area MCA could have finished," charged Guto adding, "We will not entertain their laziness."

The school lies at the bottom of Manga Hills bordering Sensi ward and Nyatieko which also cuts across Kisii and Nyamira counties.
