Agriculture minister Mwangi Kiunjuri will this Thursday return to Nyamira County, years after quitting Teachers Service Commission as a teacher.
Mr Kiunjuri started and ended his teaching career in Nyamira, having taught Kebirigo High School from 1994 to 1996. He left for Matatu business.
Plunging into politics in 1997, Kiunjuri went on to serve as an MP for 15 years. He was appointed to the cabinet in 2015.
County goverment of Nyamira confirmed that Kiunjuri will be the chief guest in farmers exhibition and avocado launch organised by Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service.
"The governor will be hosting Agriculture minister Mwangi Kiunjuri on Thursday at Nyamaiya stadium," read a note from Governor John Nyagarama's press team.
Mr Kiunjuri has been moving around the country advising farmers to embrace new technology and alternative farming modes.
"Through Crop diversification, farmers can spread production & income risk over a wide range of crops thus reducing livelihood vulnerability to weather, pests & market shocks," Kiunjuri said recently.
Kiunjuri has caused storm within political cycles when he openly joined Building Bridges Initiative debate. President Uhuru Kenyatta had warned ministers against politicking.
