Controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has hit out at East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP Oburu Oginga Odinga after the State recovered a parcel of land he had allegedly acquired irregularly.
In a case filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Oburu lost a piece of land measuring 0.14 hectares in Kisumu after the High Court cancelled its title deed on grounds it was irregularly awarded to him.
In a ruling on Friday, the court observed the land valued at Sh60 million had been grabbed from the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) and allocated the politician without following the due procedure.
However, Oburu has denied acquiring the land fraudulently and accused the EACC of targeting him unfairly.
“This is political hogwash; they (EACC) are singling me out because I am the brother of Raila. It is not my mistake to be Raila’s brother, I did not apply to be one. Neither Raila nor me need the parcel of land," he said in a rejoinder.
“The court has found that there was no fraud on my part. I did not acquire the parcel irregularly and fraudulently,” the EALA legislator added.
Reacting to the sentiments, Miguna slammed Oburu saying he should be jailed over fraud, just like Joseph Irungu aka Jowie who is facing murder charges following the brutal killing of Nairobi businesswoman Monica Kimani.
"So shamelessly disgraceful Oburu Oginga Odinga! The only reason why you are not locked up at Kamiti with Jowie is that your cowardly brother, The People's Con-Man is now Despot Uhuru Kenyatta's toilet cleaner. Shame on all of you!" he tweeted on Sunday.
