Kenyan midfield ace Victor Wanyama has hailed Former Kenya international striker Dennis Oliech as one of the best players in the history of this nation after he announced his retirement from football.
In his message on Sunday, Wanyama, who plays for Tottenham in England, wished Oliech all the best in life as he enters in another stage of life.
“Happy retirement bro and all the best in your future,” Wanyama said in his message.
Oliech announced his retirement from football on Sunday during an interview with Sunday Nation. The veteran football said that time had come for him to hang his boots after a career that span for close to a decade.
He said that he is impressed by the fact that he enjoyed the support of Kenyans during his stint at the Harambee Stars team, adding that he looks forward to better days ahead. He also said that he was yet to receive an invitation from Wazito and Bandari after leaving Gor Mahia.
"I have officially retired from playing football and will venture into business. I had started when I left Gor Mahia that I would bounce back by joining Wazito or Bandari, but nothing is forthcoming and that is why I have not seen any need to continue. I have retired both international and at a club level," he said.
Leaders and his fans have also wished him the best after retirement.
