Speaking on a prime time television program called 'Pointblank' and hosted by controversial television show host Tony Gachoka, Governor Sonko explained that his investigation has to do with land rates.

He said that he was being pushed by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over tax issues making it necessary for him to investigate the EACC so that it can pay what it owes to his administration.

"The Integrity Centre itself, I am investigating it," the Nairobi county boss said. (14:18-14:22)

He went on to say that he would be taking a file that has the finer details of his investigation into the anti-corruption body to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

It was not immediately clear the amount that the EACC owes the county government of Nairobi.

Governor Mike Sonko's revelation comes in the wake of an investigation into claims of corruption by his administration.

The county boss has been in and out of integrity centre to answer questions about suspicious transactions by county government of Nairobi.

In spite of conducting investigations against EACC, the flamboyant county boss hailed its officials for what he described as doing a good job in fighting graft, singling out the body's boss Twalib Mbarak for praise.
