The reminded the second in command that making inroads in the region is an exercise in futility.

They reminded Ruto, who is considered as one of the front runners in the race for power, that his Presidential dream is as good as dead if he continues to seek the support of the community before that time comes.

Makadara MP George Aladwa urged Musalia Mudavadi (Amani National Congress), Moses Wetang'ula (Ford Kenya) and Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution Cabinet Secretary) to unite so that they can support one of their own to beat Ruto hands down when that time comes.

“Ruto should keep off Luhya politics. He should let us organise ourselves for 2022. We have our own leaders,” he stated, as quoted by Daily Nation.

He also said that the leaders from the region have plans to lay a strong foundation to ensure Ruto doesn’t rise to power.

He further said that the leaders from the region will not accept to take any blame because of supporting someone who lacks the interest of their people at heart.

On his part, Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito accused the Jubilee government of sidelining some of the regions.

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa also urged the leaders to remain united before 2022.
