Muthoka joined leaders who had attended Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for a party at his rural home in Yatta, where he dished out money to the present leaders and preachers.

MPs who attended the function received Sh100,000 each, similar to members of the public, while ward representatives received Sh50,000 from the tycoon.

“I am happy to reconnect with all Kamba leaders after the last election campaigns, where we played on opposite political sides but can now sit together and share a Christmas meal as Kambas," he said in his speech.

Muthoka, a close ally of the Jubilee Party leadership, he called upon Kalonzo, the Ukambani kingpin, to seek close ties with the Mt Kenya region for the sake of his presidential bid.

He lauded the former Vice President for his close working relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta, terming it one of the only ways he can use to ascend to the top seat.

Muthoka who played a major role in President Uhuru Kenyatta's 2013 and 2017 campaigns said that he would mobilize his colleagues to fund campaigns of one of their own in 2022.

“Kenya’s elective politics is about statistics and finance, not how sweetly you talk to voters. For Kambas to have one of their own ascending to power, we must work closely with our cousins and neighbours," he added.

However, he made it clear that personally, he harbours no political ambitions.
