In a statement shared on Twitter by State House on Tuesday, Uhuru exuded confidence that Sakwa has proven that he has all it takes to make an amazing director.

The head of state reminded the new director to work around the clock to ensure that it changes the lives of youths by equipping them with new skills in different areas of life.

He also congratulated her following the new appointment, adding that he has confidence in her.

“You are a person with experience in management of public resources and also in public service and administration. I have confidence that you will deliver not only to the Government but also to the people of Kenya. You have the capacity to take this organization to the next level,” Uhuru said in part of the statement.

Sakwa took the oath of office in the presence of NYS Council Chairman Lt Gen (Rtd) Njuki Mwaniki, Public Service CS Prof Margaret Kobia and State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.

She is expected to prioritise the ongoing reforms at the NYS as she seeks to transform its leaders before the end of her term in office.
