In an interview with K24's Anne Kiguta on Sunday, Mudavadi said that the government needs to rethink about the foreign loans.

The Luhya political kingpin said that it is disturbing for the government to borrow excessively only for the same funds to get lost through graft.

Mudavadi also said that borrowing is one of the ways to fund government projects but he affirmed that the same should be undertaken with limits.

"We are not saying don't borrow but excessive debt results in higher taxation unless the economy is growing in leaps and bounds," he said.

Musalia also said that the government should take into account different measures as far as tax evasion is concerned.

He noted that the government should ensure that the tax requirements for both local and foreign investors are affordable to keep the market working.

"We need to look at KRA. Tax matters need to be handled professionally.

"We must use the arbitration courts more effectively and not scare away investors because tax regimes must be clearly understood," he added.

On the referendum issue, Mudavadi said that he will only support changes that benefit the people of Kenya and not a handful of leaders.
