Taita Taveta governor Granton Samboja has been battling a cold war with Members of County Assembly over the issue of scrubbing off the county.
The outspoken governor has been lobbying for signatures across Taita Taveta county in a bid to dissolve the county government.
That is a move that has been openly dismissed by Deputy President William Ruto.
But on Monday, the governor told the DP to stop meddling into Taita Taveta’s affairs.
The reason why Samboja has started a faceoff with the DP is due to the battle of supremacy in Taita Taveta county.
Since the DP has been traversing the coast recently, Taita Taveta included, the governor had to counter-attack the DP’s statement.
This was to assure his supporters that he does not need Ruto’s blessings to achieve his political motives.
He has attacked DP Ruto since he feels that the DP’s recent statements in Taita Taveta could deal a major blow to his intentions of dissolving the county government.
The cold war between Samboja and the DP revolves around the fact that the two hold different political ideologies at the moment.
While the DP is busy lobbying for 2022 support from Taita Taveta electorate, Samboja is busy rebuilding his political supremacy in his county and across the coast.
