Kisumu will this week be the center of attraction as students representing various schools from across the country are expected to put up spirited campaigns with eyes trained on wining national titles in numerous sporting disciplines.
The games kick off on Tuesday July 30, with the final set for August, 3.
The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) term two action is featuring boys’ and girls’ football under 16 and under 19, volleyball, netball, badminton, table tennis and lawn tennis.
However, majority of fans are eagerly waiting to see champions in the girls’ and boys’ under 19 football, with a slot in the East Africa games on the cards for the winners.

Boys’ under-19 football
Pool A: Shimba Hills, Garissa, St Anthony Boys, Olobosalt
Pool B: Kisumu Day, Mbooni, Ebwali, Dagorreti
Boys U-16 football
Pool A: Goseta, Koyonzo, Serani, Gatamahiu Pool
B: North Eastern, Dagorreti High, Aggoro Sare, Machakos Boys
Girls U-16 football

Barding High school from Siaya won the Nyanza region under 19 boys’ title but the team was thrown out of the national finals after a successful appeal by Kisumu Day. The same fate befell St Peter’s Mumias in Western region after an appeal by Ebwali.
