Speaking on Wednesday, the lawmaker noted that Ruto's bid will be his biggest undoing, as he will render himself a political laughingstock for very many years to come.

The MP noted that so bad will the situation be for the DP that he will find himself inside the political dustbin, and will be used in the future as a reference by political history students.

"When William Ruto will be in the political #Dustbin2022 students of political history will be taught lessons on how not to run for the presidency," he said on KTN's Point Blank.

The MP is a close ally of Kenya African National Union (KANU) boss and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, who is as well considered Ruto's leading rival in the Rift Valley region.

Kamket also weighed in on the proposed referendum bid, pledging his full support for the proposed changes which seek to among others, expand the executive arm of government.

He proposed the return of the parliamentary governance system and creation of a Prime Ministerial seat, alongside the inclusion of the seat of a ceremonial presidential figure.

"I am a believer in the parliamentary system of government. In my bill I’m proposing the creation of a position of the prime minister who is an MP, ministers to come from parliament and a ceremonial figure as head of state," he added.

However, the calls which are quite similar to those being pushed by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have been opposed by the DP and his camp.
