Lilian Keter is being accused of allegedly murdering her husband Ronex Kipkemoi on April 16, 2016 at Kiamunyi within Nakuru County.

Keter who has denied the charges is being charged alongside her brother Fredrick Koech and her nephew Daniel Mwaciru.

Keter has maintained that her husband committed suicide saying that his family has a history of suicides.

Standardmedia.co.ke reports that during the case hearing Keter wanted to use an Occurrence Book (OB) extract as evidence to prove that her husband committed suicide.

The police however failed to the produce the report in court as the officer in charge of Kiamunyi Administration Police Post, Corporal Anthony Achisa, told the court that they could not trace the OB extract.

Achisa who presented an incident and crime report instead told Justice Joel Ngugi that the OB report might have disappeared when they shifted from the Administration Police to Kenya Police Service.

The incident and crime report, under OB Number 7/16/4/2016, showed that Keter had reported that her husband had locked himself in his house and tried to commit suicide.

State Counsel Amos Chigiti questioned the authenticity of the report which had only the date of the incident and not the time when the matter was reported.

The prosecution said Kipkemoi was already dead by the time his wife was reporting the suicide attempt in which Constable Jane Njeri submitted that the report was made at 8:15pm.

The case will continue on October 3 when the prosecution and defence lawyers will make their final submissions.
