Speaking on Thursday to Sophia Wanuna in an exclusive interview aired on the Standard Media Group-owned Kenya Television Network (KTN), Mr Guyo said he would contest his removal by raising the matter with President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the governing Jubilee Party leader.

"Definitely, we will contest it. We wrote a letter to the party and we will escalate the matter to the party leader," he said

According to him, the way he was removed from his position was unprocedural.

He said that he had been elected to the position and the way to strip him of the position is to call another election.

Guyo was ousted as majority leader amid a chaotic feud with Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi, who was reinstated by a court months after being impeached by the MCAs.

His removal was orchestrated through a letter written by the Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju.

Many see his removal as punishment by the party for allegedly being behind the chaos at City Hall that threatened to grind the operations of the county to a halt.

Guyo said that should the Jubilee structures fail to resolve the outstanding issues, he would go to the courts to seek justice.
