Nyamira Senator Okong'o Omogeni has said that the union between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto is on the verge of collapse.
Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Omogeni said that the recent sentiments by DP Ruto shows clearly that all is not well in the party.
He said that it will be hard for the two leaders to stick together until the end of this year. The lawmaker said that he foresees a bitter fallout between the President and his deputy.
“I will be shocked if UhuRuto marriage survives till the end of 2020,” he retorted.
This comes after Ruto said that the tours to popularize the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in different parts of the nation is a waste of time and money.
He questioned why the government is planning to spent a lot of money on the report when there are better things to do.
“It was made clear by the President that copies should be made available for the people to decide for themselves. Why is it now that it is the leaders who are making decisions for the people?” he asked. “Where do they find the money to campaign for a document that has no opposition?” he posed.
There have also been reports that Ruto, who is considered one of the front runners in the race for Presidency, has been locked out of his official residence.
