Burglars on Wednesday night raided a Cuban doctor's home in Homa Bay and stole her belongings.
According to Dr Blanco Torres Marleni, the thieves who gained entry into her house at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital cooked and ate as she hid in the bedroom.
She said that they took a TV set, microwave, music system, blenders and kitchen appliances of unknown value.
She told the police that she hid in the bedroom and failed to raise alarm due to fear.
"They cooked food which was in the refrigerator and ate in the kitchen before they disappeared," she told police officers.
Homa Bay County Police Commander Esther Seroney confirmed the incident stating that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation will probe the incident.
Two police officers who had been guarding the house are among those to be questioned.
Dr Torres and another doctor identified as Juan Ramos are attached to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.
This incident comes just five months after two doctors attached to Mandera County Hospital were abducted by Al-Shabaab militants.
The terrorist group demanded Sh150 million as ransom which the government is yet to oblige to.
Six months on, there has been no development in the rescue mission.
