Embattled Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has yet again taken a swipe at Amani National Congress and Ford Kenya parties over 'their attitude' towards NASA.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) has been undergoing internal wrangles, leading to threats to dissolve it by a number of founding parties.
Amani National Congress party last week insisted that the alliance was dead, with Secretary-General Barack Muluka saying that Malala would face disciplinary action for supporting ODM candidate in Kibra.
Malala had argued that ANC was still in NASA, thus the freedom to campaign for Imran Okoth, who eventually won the seat.
Speaking on Wednesday at Citizen Radio, Malala insisted that the alliance was still intact, arguing that both ANC and Ford Kenya have been asking for political parties funds from ODM.
"Amani National Congress always asks for that money every month. Ford Kenya always asks for the same. If they think NASA doesn't exist, why are they asking for the money? Don't be lied to, NASA is still intact," he said.
ANC suspended Malala last week for failing to toe to the party line in Kibra and he's now expected to face a disciplinary committee.
“After careful reflection and deliberation, ANC has decided to take necessary disciplinary action against this member (Malala) on grounds that his conduct seriously offends not only ANC party laws but Statute laws as well,” Committee Chair Yare Mohammed said.
Already, ODM has vowed to support Malala in the event that he loses his Kakamega seat over the current standoff with ANC.
