6 suspected thieves were on Saturday morning arrested by police in Igonga Division for allegedly stealing a mobile phone and Sh70,000 cash from a house they broke into on Tuesday night in Keboye sub location, Bomariba ward, Kisii County.
According to Igonga Administration police post boss Nicholas Omondi Olago, police recovered a mobile phone from one of the suspects.
Olago said the suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday.
"Theft cases are on the rise in the area but I am assuring residents that police will not rest until crime ends in the region. We have transferred the suspects including a woman to Gesonso police station for charge sheets to be prepared for them to be charged in court on Monday," said the police boss.
