The 2022 succession debate is not going to die any time as politician’s strategize for the next polls.
Politicians across the divide are strategizing seeking partnerships and endorsement for various seats in the next polls.
The succession debates has been fueled by last month famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The Coast region has not been left behind in the 2022 succession politics with some region politician’s openly endorsing Deputy President William Ruto’s bid.
As politician’s battle for 2022, here are the youthful Coast politician’s to watch ahead of the 2022 general election.
1. Abdulwasmad Nassir
He is the Mvita MP lawmaker serving his second term on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
Nassir is considered as ODM leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa governor Hassan Johos’s ally and confidant.
The vocal Mvita MP was elected recently as the chairperson of the National Assembly Public Accounts and Investment Committee (PIC).
On Thursday, Nassir accompanied Raila in meeting with former retired president Daniel Arap Moi.There are claims that he could succeed Governor Hassan Joho in 2022.
2. Rashid Bedzimba
He is the former Kisauni Member of Parliament and a close ally of Governor Hassan Joho.
Bedzimba lost re-election to Ali Mbogo in last year’s general election.
He has huge support base comprising women and youth and is among politicians likely to succeed governor Joho in 2022.
3. Anwar Loitiptip
He is the Lamu senator elected in last year’s general election on Jubilee Party ticket.
The youthful senator has become an inspiration to many youth across Coast region.
He has vowed to end drug and substance abuse across Coast region.

4. Aisha Hussein
She is the Mombasa Woman Representative elected in last year’s general election on ODM ticket.
She succeed vocal MP Mishi Mboko and has pledged to spearhead the interests of women, youth and persons with disabilities across Mombasa.
5. Majala Mlagui
She is the Taita Taveta deputy governor and elected alongside governor Granton Samboja on Wiper party ticket.
Mlagui is among the youngest deputy governors across the country.
At only 26, she will be among the young coast politician’s to watch out as 2022 succession debates take center stage.
6. Mohamed Ali
He is the Nyali Member of Parliament elected in last year’s general election.
Ali was elected as an independent candidate after losing in the ODM nominations.
The former investigative journalists has hinted on contesting for top seat in 2022.
He has also vowed to eliminate drug abuse and insecurity across Mombasa and Coast
