The former Vice President unsuccessfully contested for the presidency in 2007 emerging third after former President Mwai Kibaki and ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

The Wiper leader has declared interest in the presidency in the 2022 general election.

He has often been branded as ‘watermelon’ due to his shaky political stands.

Here are six interesting things you did  not  know about the former Vice president:

1. Staunch Christian

Kalonzo takes matters of religion seriously. 

In his political campaigns and rallies, the former Vice president has been quoted quoting Bible verses.

He was baptized by Pastor Musila Munyoki.

2. Married

He is married to one wife, Pauline Musyoka, and the two are blessed with four children.

Kalonzo is a loving and caring father and has often taken family matters seriously.

In September last year just after the general election and in anticipation of the October 26 repeat presidential poll, Kalonzo flew to Germany to tender to her ailing wife who had been admitted.

Kalonzo spent weeks with her then ailing wife before jetting back to the country in late December when political temperatures had heightened.

3. Kalonzo Musyoka  Foundation's  patron

The former Vice President is the patron of the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation.

The foundation offers scholarships to bright but needy students.

Last year, the government launched crackdown on the foundation was not adhering to the law especially on maters tax remittance.

4. Kenya Scouts Association's patron

Kalonzo is the founder and chairman of the Kenya Scouts Association that has membership across the country.

5. Lawyer

Kalonzo is a trained lawyer having graduated with a Degree from University of Nairobi in 1977.

He graduated with a post-diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law in 1978.

6. University Chancellor 

Kalonzo has served as Uganda  Technology and Management University Vice Chancellor since 2013.

The former Vice President  says he is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and lobbying for support.

Kalonzo, however, faces headache in Ukambani because of disunity among elected leaders as he pushes for his 2022 bid.
