6 KCSE candidates at Makueni Boys High School who were arrested for being in possession of leaked exam in their phones were on Friday arraigned in Makueni Law court.
The students were arrested on Thursday by police officers with phones said to have contained the questions in the ongoing KCSE exams.
Joseph Naipeiyan, area police commander said police confiscated the phones and sent to KNEC headquarters in Nairobi.
Naipeiyan said KNEC confirmed the leakage in the phones was real.
"KNEC confirmed that the leakage was the exact Kiswahili paper which was done on Thursday,'' said the police commander.
He warned candidates ongoing with exams to desist from exam malpractices which may lead to cancellation of their results.
"I urge candidates to avoid being in possession of the ongoing KCSE exam materials since they will be de-registered and punished by law,'' he said.
