Sharing personal items may not seem dangerous until they prove so. The truth is that sharing personal items is risky and dangerous in the context of health. Below are some items that you should not share with anybody;
Bathing soap
After bathing the soap will always remain covered with microorganisms like bacteria. If you share your soap with somebody who has fungal growth on the skin then definitely you might get affected. Soaps are personal items that shouldn't be shared.
Towels
If you have ever used a towel before then you are aware that towels remain wet and moist after drying yourself. The wet and moist conditions provide good breeding grounds for germs and yeasts to grow. The yeasts will infect you and the person or people you share it with. You are advised to wash and disinfect your towels after a week.
Deodorants
Deodorants like roll-ons (Rexona for example) should not be shared because they get into direct contact with the skin at the armpit. The human armpit may contain bacteria especially due to the hair and sweat around there. You are therefore advised not to share this item with anybody.
Toothbrush
Sharing toothbrushes is really common among couples not knowing that they accumulate millions of bacteria within the bristles. You should have your own toothbrush which again should be disinfected regularly using either vinegar or hydrogen peroxide.
Lip balm/lipstick
Ladies are fond of sharing lipstick and lip balms not knowing they can actually attract diseases. They get particles of dead skin and bacteria after use sharing this may cause a disease called labial herpes.
Bathing sponge
Common among families. You check into a bathroom and find one sponge that is used by all family members. It should be known that sponge is wet most of the times and this can breed fungi should any family member affected use it. It is advised that each and every body uses his or her own sponge.
