At least 3000 Youths from five counties will be considered for employment opportunities training the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (Kyeop).

Kyeop national coordinator Olivia Ouko said that atleast 600 Youths would be picked from five different counties that have been pulled in the same cycle. The counties include Nairobi, Kisumu, Kwale, Nakuru and Mombasa.“Selection will consider gender, those with disability, the vulnerable and youth from marginalised areas within their counties who are Form Four leavers, dropouts or those who deserve support,” she said.

She said that the World bank has pumped sh 16 billion to the project.Ms Ouko said that more than 93,000 Youths had applied for the project and the huge number of applicants forced them to subdivide the project into cycles and adopted a randomisation process to give equal chances of training to different youth in the five counties.Ms Ouko was speaking in Kisumu yesterday.

The position had been advertised through Kyeop Website or subsequently dropping the applications at respective sub county offices Last December for Youths between 18 to 29 years who are high school graduates.
