A 40-year-old man committed suicide in Nduu village, Matungulu after a drinking spree and later took poison.
The incident was confirmed by Matungulu Assistant County Commissioner Gerald Omoke.
He told Hivisasa in his office on Thursday that the man had on Wednesday engaged in drinking with his friends.
Omoke said that the reason as to why the man decided to take is life is still unknown since no suicide note was recovered.
"He woke up in the morning and gave his father Sh100. He went to his uncle's wife and told him he feels he's dying and collapsed. \hspray as found," said Omoke.
"His family says that he had not argued with anyone or talked about being troubled," he added.
He said that suicide cases have increased in the sub county and urged residents to take it easy with life in case they are burdened with issues.
"We are disturbed by the suicide cases in Matungulu. I would like to urge people to seek professional help in case they are facing issues," he said.
