Garissa Governor Ali Korane on Tuesday inspected several development projects being undertaken by his County Government in Saka Ward, Balambala Sub-County.
During his visit, Korane said the projects being undertaken will benefit area residents once they are completed.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the governor said that he toured the county to inspect the progress of various ongoing ward projects and to commission completed projects.
“The projects I inspected that mainly comprised of the solarization of shallow wells, rehabilitation of water tanks, piping and drilling of boreholes included Saka Water Supply, Hadley Water Supply, Madah Libah Water Supply, Daley borehole and Hadley maternity wing,” read part of his post.
Korane said that he has also asked the county department of water to immediately commence the feasibility of drilling of a borehole in Hirbay and extension of Daley water supply to Bulla Gadud and Bulla Rahma to enable residents to have water within proximate distances.
The project is part of the county government’s commitment to ensure sustainable access to safe drinking water to all county residents.
The governor also engaged with the residents and promised that his administration will address issues affecting them.
Korane also toured centres in Dederey, Daley, Bulla Gadud, Magathow, Bulla Rahma, Bulla Haji, Mathah Libah, Saka, Qabobey, Hirbae, Hadley and Kasha.
