The MP has been in police custody since his arrest on Wednesday last week for allegedly making xenophobic remarks.

On Friday last week, Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Sinkiyani Tobiko detained Jaguar for three days to allow police complete investigations against him.

The prosecution had asked the court to detain the lawmaker for 14 days for the police to complete investigations.

Led  by Senior Prosecution Counsel Duncan Ondimu, the prosecution claimed that the MP was likely to interfere with investigations if granted bail.

On Tuesday,  a detective privy to investigations and who is not permitted to speak to the media told this writer that they are ready to press charges against Jaguar once he appears in court on Wednesday.

The detective said that the MP is likely to face an incitement charge in relation to xenophobic remarks he is allegedly said to have made in his constituency on Monday last week.

Jaguar was arrested outside Parliaments buildings two days after he allegedly made the xenophobic remarks.

His arrest and detention has been condemned by a section of his colleagues among them Embakasi East MP Babu Owino who claim that his constitutional rights are being violated.
