Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has said she admires ODM Leader Raila Odinga because he understands and supports gender equality.
In an interview on KTN's Pointblank show on Wednesday, Waiguru said the former Prime Minister has been fighting for the rights of women since he entered the political arena, which makes him admirable.
The governor further noted that she has interacted with Odinga for some time, adding that he is indeed a good man.
"One thing I have admired about Raila Odinga is his understanding and support for gender equality. He is one leader who is willing to stand with women," she said.
Waiguru divulged that the voters and leaders from the Mt Kenya region are ready to work with the former Prime Minister when President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in power.
She noted that President Kenyatta will give the leaders as well as voters from the region direction before they can decide who to support in the contest for power.
"The Mt Kenya community is going to make a decision on how we are going to proceed going forward. That decision which is led by Uhuru Kenyatta is the one that will determine how the formation will look like," she said.
