The DP kicked off his tour of the Coast mid-last week, shortly after Uhuru's tour, which saw the Head of State officially open the Agriculture Society of Kenya (ASK) show.

Speaking on Monday, the commentator said that thanks to their said growing enmity, Ruto wanted to rectify any harm that might have been caused by the president in the area.

He said that aware that Uhuru has reneged on his initial promise to endorse him in 2022 and in line with his attempts to make sure that the region backs him, he had to rush there to wipe off any damage Uhuru's trip might have done.

"Seeing the president there, it was a must for Ruto to return there to check if any damage has been made. He must quietly rectify it (Ukiona rais pale lazima Ruto angerudi pale kuona kama kuna damage imefanyika. Lazima quietly arekebishe)," he said on Radio Maisha, Monday morning.

The commentator also opined that the DP has been clinging on any tiny campaign reason he can get after Uhuru managed to block him from launching development initiatives.

He pointed out that the DP is no longer hiding the fact that he is campaigning, and no longer has any reason to honour Uhuru's warning against such as he (Uhuru) is no longer of any use to him after apparently abandoning him.

"Ruto has been campaigning and it's clear that Uhuru is not of any help to him and is not supporting him (Ruto anafanya campaign and it's clear kwamba Uhuru hamsaidii ama hamshiki mkono)," he added.
