This is in a bid to avert the spread of the Coronavirus disease which has claimed lives in China.

In a tweet, Manyora said if the outbreak of the disease was in Kenya, then China would not waste a single second in suspending flights to the country.

"My advice to the government: Urgently consider suspending flights to and from China to avert what might be a disaster from the #coronavirus. If it was Kenya with the epidemic China would long have stopped flights," he said.

"Government has to listen, otherwise Kenyans could die in their thousands from this #coronavirus . Our fear of foreigners is our greatest undoing," he added.

On Tuesday morning, a patient from Guangzhou, China with Coranavirus symptoms was quarantined at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

The patient had, however, been cleared and declared safe to travel by China port health authorities at the airport.

"The Kenyan passenger had been cleared to travel by the China port health authorities at the Guangzhou Airport, said KQ as quoted by Citizen Digital.

"Decision to quarantine the port was reached by the Kenya government port health authority stationed at JKIA," KQ added.
