Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah has taken a swipe at Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru over the threats to sue musician Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka.
The renowned rapper on Tuesday claimed he was summoned by DCI, a claim which sleuths dismissed. He, however, showed up at the DCI headquarters.
In a demand letter, Waiguru through her lawyers insisted that Kaka should withdraw the content of his song in which he had dragged her.
“You offer full unconditional admission of liability in writing where after the quantum damages to our client shall be pursued,” read the letter.
The letter from Waiguru has elicited sharp reactions from among Kenyans with top lawyers vowing to represent Kaka in court.
Ichung'wah, in relation to the alleged threats, said that he was also ready to fundraise for Kaka's legal aid.
"Is it True someone threatened to sue @RabbitTheKing?True @ahmednasirlaw offered SC legal aid with other great legal minds?@bonifacemwangi is mobilizing Kenyans in support of the artist? I SHALL attend a fundraiser for legal aid @ the national Theatre when other artists organize," he said.
The song has caused mixed reactions from among Kenyans with a number of them supporting the content where Kaka calls out those engaging in corruption.
