Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has come out to defend herself from criticism over her donation of alcohol to the elderly over Christmas.
Passaris was responding to a tweep who asked her why she donated alcohol to the elderly.
"I have seen photos of Nairobi Woman Representative @EstherPassaris sharing summit lager with the elderly somewhere... Is that how you celebrate Xmas with old folks," Muhammad Onyango posed.
In response, she said that they donated foodstuff, fruits and a few beers to the elderly for purposes of enjoying themselves which was not wrong.
"We donated dry food, fruits & vegetables. When a few men and women requested beers to enjoy Christmas we saw nothing wrong with that. Given their age, we got sugar free beers:-). We also had soft drinks & juices. When my 95-year-old Cucu asked for a cigarette, I got her one," noted Passaris.
On Christmas Day, Passaris together with a team from her office visited the Little Sisters of the Poor who reside in Kasarani.
